Both of these methods will allow you to quickly check the version of Oracle installed on your Linux machine. For Oracle Enterprise Manager, launch the Enterprise Manager Console and select the ‘Database Home’ page to view the version of Oracle installed. With SQL*Plus, connect to the database instance as the SYS user and issue the following command: SELECT BANNER FROM V$VERSION This will return the version of Oracle installed on the machine. To check the version of Oracle installed on a Linux machine, you can use either the SQL*Plus command line tool or the Oracle Enterprise Manager.
